MEOEU at STEFANYK OPEN DAY: environmental education, science and European values for youth

On October 23, the teachers of the Department of Chemistry and the executors of the European Union grant project ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module 101127251-MEOEU-ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH actively participated in the large-scale career guidance event STEFANYK OPEN DAY: Univer&City, which brought together hundreds of high school students of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, students and teachers.
During the event, special attention was paid to demonstrating that natural sciences are the basis of technological progress and ecological balance, and chemistry plays a key role in creating safe materials, developing environmental monitoring and implementing innovative solutions to preserve the environment. These ideas are consistently implemented within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module project.
The event became an important platform for the implementation of the tasks of the ERASMUS+ project in the youth environment, in particular, regarding the formation of environmental education, a responsible attitude towards the environment and the popularization of European approaches to monitoring and protection of natural resources. In the format of an open dialogue, teachers of the Department of Chemistry introduced schoolchildren to the role of chemical sciences in ensuring environmental safety and sustainable development of society.
STEFANYK OPEN DAY: Univer&City became not only an open day, but a real philosophy of the unity of education, city and future. The participation of the Department of Chemistry in this event confirmed its active position in the formation of the scientific worldview of young people, the dissemination of environmental knowledge and the implementation of European values of education, which are key priorities of the EU project ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module.
