On November 6, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, as part of the Stefanyk Info Day event organized by the pedagogical, physical and technical and natural sciences faculties, reopened its doors to young people, turning their acquaintance with the university into an exciting journey in the Univer&City format.
Lecturers of the Department of Chemistry and executors of the European Union grant project ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module 101127251-MEOEU-ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH actively participated in the event, implementing the project’s objectives through the popularization of environmental education, European values of sustainable development and the role of chemical sciences in environmental preservation among young students.
A special place in the “city of opportunities” was occupied by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, which appeared as a real green “Ecopark” – a space of science, nature and innovation. Faculty teachers and students clearly demonstrated how modern science comes to life through interactive formats: chemical experiments, interactive master classes, educational demonstrations and live communication, which introduced visitors to specialties related to research, monitoring and environmental conservation.
Within the locations of the Department of Chemistry, special attention was paid to explaining the importance of environmental safety, responsible use of natural resources and the implementation of European approaches to environmental monitoring, which are key priorities of the ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module project. This format allowed combining career guidance with the formation of an environmental culture and scientific worldview of young people.
The sincere interest and interested views of young visitors were the best confirmation of the importance of such events. The staff of the Department of Chemistry is convinced that it is educated, motivated and environmentally conscious youth who are able to preserve, revive and develop Ukraine, mastering natural specialties that shape the science and technology of the future.
