Environmental Monitoring, Education, and European Integration: Chemistry Department Faculty Held a Three-Day Webinar as Part of an Erasmus+ Grant Project

From June 1 to 3, 2026, the MEOEU project (No. 101127251), implemented under the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module, held a three-day online webinar for approximately 40 natural science educators from the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The webinar focused on environmental monitoring in the context of Ukraine’s European integration, including the harmonization of Ukrainian monitoring systems with EU requirements for air, water, and soil quality. Participants explored European approaches to environmental assessment, the development of Ukraine’s state environmental monitoring system under Law No. 7327, and the role of open environmental data and public participation. Practical sessions introduced digital monitoring tools, including SaveEcoBot, Eco City, Ecosystem, and Eco-threat.

The event highlighted the importance of aligning environmental monitoring, information accessibility, and environmental education with European standards to support sustainable development and Ukraine’s integration into the European environmental framework.
